Recipe: Sweet and Savory Pork Chops With Grilled Peaches
Deliciously lean, with lots of flavor

Many people don’t realize that a 3-ounce serving of pork provides you with more than half of your daily thiamine, which helps your body metabolize carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Besides being healthy and offering lean protein, this recipe is super flavorful and easy to make.

- 1 tsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 4 boneless pork loin chops, 1/2-inch thick
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 16 oz can sliced peaches in juice, drained

Ingredient health benefits
- Cinnamon: More than just a flavor enhancer, cinnamon is full of antioxidants that suppress inflammation and harmful little subatomic particles called free radicals. There’s also magnesium, iron, zinc and calcium, which go a long way in keeping your bones, blood cells and immune system healthy. Natural compounds in cinnamon may have the ability to lower your “bad” (LDL) cholesterol levels, but more research is needed.
- Cloves: You may be surprised to find another spice on this list, but cloves also have some benefits to bring to the dinner table. Like cinnamon, cloves have calcium and magnesium. But there are other important nutrients like potassium, which helps regulate your blood pressure and heart beat, and vitamin K, an essential vitamin for strong bones.
- Pork: In moderation, this beloved meat is brimming with benefits. Pork is high in protein to support your muscles. It also has iron, zinc and B vitamins to prevent anemia, boost your immunity and help your metabolism run smoothly.
- Peaches: Who doesn’t love this sweet summertime treat? Peaches are a good source of beta-carotene, which your body turns into vitamin A to support your vision. They’re also packed with vitamin C, potassium, soluble and insoluble fiber, probiotics and polyphenols that promote a happy heart, lower inflammation and keep your gut microbiome thriving.
